The uplift of society and restoring it to the path of 'Sanathana Dharma' (Eternal Dharma) – starting from an individual home and spreading to the entire world – was the aim of Navajyothisree Karunakara Guru. Guru opened the way for a renaissance, a new beginning, in the material, spiritual and cultural areas by cleansing families of the follies of the past and inspiring them to live in a more responsible, simple, cooperative and egalitarian manner.
Children growing up in such families, free from the prejudices of caste, creed and religion and with increased 'karmasheshi' (ability to act), are the torchbearers of the change envisaged by Guru.
Five major organizations are working under the aegis of the Ashram to showcase this new culture and lifestyle to the world and to help people imbibe these in their daily lives
At a time when people, especially the youth, are getting swayed by mindless consumerism, materialism and Westernization, these groups are imparting a value-based perspective to families to bring up the children with the right knowledge and attitudes.
These groups are the 'Vishwa Samskarika Navodhana Kendra', 'Mathrumandalam', 'Gurumahima', 'Santhimahima' and 'Gurukanthi'.
Among the principles promoted by these organizations are: Upholding human values; Caring for nature and environment; Nurturing respect for divergent beliefs and faiths; Promotion of value-based educational systems; Fostering awareness on health and karmic ability; Right motivation for children, adolescents and youth; Women empowerment; Family orientation for societal transformation.
